Solved: well, the charger is plugged in, but it says not charging. this has happened twice. i would have thought bad battery or bad charger, except. Your dell laptop plugged in but not charging, here is how to fix it. first check if a simple reboot will not fix the charging problem. then continue through. Hello all. well, my problem... sunday i noticed that my battery icon was saying "plugged in, not charging". i checked my outlet, my ac adapter, the brick between the two and the port on the laptop.. I purchased a dell inspiron 1525 in april 2008. about 1 month ago i noticed that my computer would automaticaly shut down when the power cord was removed, i hovered over the battery icon in the bottom right corner and it said 0% available plugged in, not charging..
